Loot & Logic early preview #
The closed early preview is an invite-only, technical build of Loot & Logic for trusted testers. It is being prepared now; it is not a public beta, and there is no open sign-up or announced release date. The purpose of this stage is to validate that the current desktop client is genuinely playable before the game is presented more publicly.
Access #
- Access is invite-only and coordinated through ZFordDev.
- Testers are onboarded individually; there is no waitlist or public sign-up.
- Feedback is collected through the invitation channel and used to steer development.
Platforms #
- Linux is the primary platform.
- Windows is supported.
- The client is built with Godot and runs against a local authoritative host on the same machine.
What the current build includes #
- A native Godot 4.7 desktop client with a title screen, start action, and escape menu.
- A camera-centred generated overworld (the Wilds) streamed as an authoritative 3×3 terrain neighbourhood.
- Four-direction keyboard movement (WASD and arrow keys) with terrain collision enforced by the authority.
- The
base → Wilds → Ore Vault → loot → same Wilds entrance → basejourney with exact room returns. - Local save and resume: leaving and restarting an interrupted session resumes the same player in the same Wilds position.
What is not included yet #
- The full validated MVP journey: base crafting, automated production, and the decoy tool used in a second, harder room.
- Cooperative play or joining a friend’s world. Cooperative work is paused until the single-player client matches the MVP, then resumes through a LAN cooperative milestone.
- Character and world selection, controller support, and final art or audio.
Providing feedback #
Because the preview is invite-only, feedback returns through the invitation channel. The most useful reports say what was unclear, what broke, and how long a session lasted.
